Sharjah Police recently ar_res_ted a man near a mosque who had amassed a staggering Dh14,000 in just three days through begging. His apprehension was part of an ongoing anti-begging campaign launched during Ramadan, a time when many exploit public generosity to make easy money.

Authorities Urge Public to Donate Wisely

Authorities warn that some individuals turn begging into a seasonal activity, deceiving well-meaning donors. In response, police have urged residents to donate only through official charity organizations and report any cases of unauthorized solicitation.

UAE's Crackdown on Begging Continues

The UAE has intensified its efforts to curb street begging, with Dubai Police recently ar_res_ting 127 beggars and seizing over Dh50,000 in the first half of Ramadan alone. Law enforcement agencies stress that these measures protect the community from fraudulent activities and ensure that aid reaches those genuinely in need.

If you encounter street beggars, authorities encourage reporting them via 999 (emergency) or the designated police hotlines in each emirate.
