Bangladesh cricket fans were left in shock as former national team captain Tamim Iqbal suffered a heart attack during a Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL) match in Savar on Monday.

The 35-year-old, who retired from international cricket earlier this year, was leading Mohammedan Sporting Club when he complained of severe chest pain during the first innings. He was immediately rushed to KPJ Specialised Hospital, where tests confirmed a cardiac blockage.

Doctors acted swiftly, performing an emergency angioplasty to remove the blockage. Fortunately, Tamim’s condition is now stable, and he remains under medical observation.
