PM Shehbaz Sharif Reviews FBR’s Performance, Stresses Sustainable Reforms
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, fresh from his visit to Saudi Arabia, wasted no time in addressing Pakistan’s economic priorities. Convening a high-level meeting, he reviewed the performance of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), lauding its recent success in recovering Rs. 34.5 billion on short notice.
Acknowledging the collective efforts behind this achievement, he commended Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar, Economic Affairs Minister Ahad Khan Cheema, FBR Chairman Rashid Mahmood Langrial, and key officials from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Intelligence Bureau (IB).
Call for Comprehensive Reforms
While appreciating the swift recovery, PM Shehbaz emphasized the importance of sustainable reforms to ensure long-term economic stability. He directed authorities to devise a comprehensive action plan, focusing on:
