Pakistan Welcomes Starlink: A New Era of Satellite Internet Begins
Pakistan is on the brink of a digital revolution as Starlink, the satellite internet venture by SpaceX, gears up to introduce its services in the country. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Pakistan’s IT Minister, has officially confirmed that Starlink’s arrival marks the beginning of satellite-based internet connectivity, a game-changer for remote and underserved areas.
With provisional approval granted by the Pakistan Space Activities Regulatory Board (PSARB), Starlink is now waiting for its operating license from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) before launching services. Once operational, this move is expected to bridge the digital divide, providing high-speed internet to regions with limited connectivity.
What This Means for Pakistan
