Pakistan’s IT industry continues to thrive, with exports soaring to $2.177 billion (PKR 607.7 billion) in the first seven months of the fiscal year 2024-25. This marks an impressive 26.53% year-on-year growth, reinforcing the country's position as a key player in the global digital economy.

Computer Services Leading the Surge

The primary driver behind this remarkable increase is computer services, which saw a 32.72% growth, reaching $1.855 billion (PKR 517.9 billion). Within this category:

• Software consultancy services surged by 35.51%, reflecting the growing demand for Pakistan’s software expertise.
• Information services experienced an extraordinary 736.66% rise, highlighting the increasing role of data-driven solutions and analytics.

Telecom Services Face a Decline

While the IT sector as a whole performed strongly, telecommunication services declined by 5.05%, largely due to a drop in other telecom-related exports. This indicates a shift in focus toward software and consultancy services as Pakistan's digital landscape evolves.

Pakistan’s Digital Economy on the Rise

Despite the minor setbacks in telecom, the overall IT sector's expansion is a testament to Pakistan’s growing digital economy.
