The clutch is an integrated system in which one component connects its components together once it is worn, which means that if it is not used at the same time, the other components will soon wear out.

This is why all manufacturers provide a set of couplings, including pressure plate, drive plate and release bearing. Therefore, the entire system can be easily replaced, and all its elements can work normally.

The manufacturer also provides a flywheel in the clutch kit. It is not part of the clutch, but since the clutch is already connected, it is recommended that you also replace it with a new one. Usually, the clutch kit also includes bearings, springs and centering tools.

What is included in the clutch kit?

The standard clutch kit includes three main components-pressure plates, separator (release bearing) and drive plate.

Pressure plate

The function of this disc is to ensure reliable contact between the flywheel and the drive disc. The disk is mounted on the flywheel and rotates with the flywheel, thereby exerting pressure on the drive disk.

Disk drive

The drive has a connection function. One side of it is fixed on the flywheel, and the other side is fixed on the pressure plate (disc). There are friction materials on both sides of the drive disc, which is why it is also called friction.

Release bearing

The bearing is connected to the clutch pedal via a fork and drive system (mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic). When you step on the pedal, the pedal moves along the axis of the transmission input shaft to the clutch housing (basket), stepping on the diaphragm spring, thereby releasing the pressure on the drive disc. Modern release bearings are spherical, mechanical or hydraulic.
