Bridging Cultures: Non-Muslim Volunteers Join Hands in UAE’s #GoodnessBus Ramadan Initiative
In the spirit of Ramadan, a heartwarming initiative is unfolding in the UAE as non-Muslim volunteers stand alongside fasting Muslims to distribute thousands of iftar meals daily. Through the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA)’s #GoodnessBus campaign, volunteers are working tirelessly to ensure that laborers across the country receive nourishing meals at the end of their fast.
With an ambitious goal of providing 150,000 meals by the end of the holy month, the initiative is bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds, including teachers, professionals, and expatriates, who dedicate their post-work hours to giving back. From Jebel Ali to Al Quoz, these selfless efforts highlight the UAE’s strong values of compassion, social responsibility, and unity.
Major General Obaid Muhair bin Surour emphasized how such initiatives foster deeper connections within society, reinforcing the spirit of generosity that defines Ramadan. For many volunteers, the experience is more than just an act of service—it is an opportunity to connect, learn, and appreciate the significance of this sacred time.
As the #GoodnessBus continues its journey, it serves as a powerful reminder that kindness knows no boundaries. Whether fasting or not, people from all walks of life are coming together to uphold the values of empathy, respect, and togetherness—making Ramadan a truly inclusive and meaningful celebration.
