Combat plays a big role in RuneScape and it is evident. The official RuneScape book I obtained at the Scholastic Book Fair states that. The bosses play an important role in combat, so I think it's fair that the Completionist Cape requires taking on all of them and defeating them all. While I'm not a fan, Yakamaru will be a great dog!

Problem with this is team bosses. There's no guarantee that you'll find a team. You shouldn't be able to "complete" the game, and you shouldn't depend on the other players. As for abilities, that would have been viable up until the raids release. However, now there are tradeable abilities available. This makes it similar to having all RuneScape weapons available as a requirement.

It could have been possible before however, Transfigure/Sacrifice/ Devotion were dropped by two bosses, I'm not sure of the implications of that.
